Amy Elizabeth Smith sure knows how to have an Austen adventure! I really enjoyed reading about her year-long tour and the people she met, whether in Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay or Argentina. The fact that she was able to participate in the reading group discussions in Spanish is awesome. That she went to six different countries to share Austen is inspiring. The people Amy meets on her travels are warm and friendly, the kind of people I’d love to hang with. And even with the disparate backgrounds – socioeconomic status, education, profession – they make time for the luxury of reading and talking about Austen’s books.My favorite part of All Roads Lead to Austen? Amy’s humor and sense of self, the latter especially when admitting that she’s not quite that comfortable giving up control – even if she realizes that it’s just the way it is… drey’s rating: Pick it up!
