Kept: A Coveted Novel

Kept - Shawntelle Madison Natalya Stravinsky is not your everyday werewolf. After all, there aren’t very many werewolves who’re a little neurotic, and a lot OCD. If I could’ve read the first book in the series, Coveted, before Kept, I’m guessing I would’ve learned a lot more about Nat. Not that it’s necessary – Shawntelle Madison does a really nice job telling us exactly what we need to know. The plot’s a bit complicated, with Russian mobs, vengeful fairies, family debts, honor, and dysfunctional relationships. Oh, and let’s not forget a BFF whose heart she holds, and an ex with a crazy fiancee. I honestly have no idea how Nat deals with it all, but she somehow manages.I really enjoyed the story and the characters — though I wasn’t sure I liked Nat until I was about halfway through the book. It takes a special kind of strong to know all your weaknesses, yet still step up to the plate because you’re the only one who can. She’s beaten, bruised, and hurt, yet manages to limp to the finish line out of sheer stubbornness. You’ve gotta admire the gal’s gumption!I look forward to where Nat goes from here. She’s achieved more than even she expected, so what is she going to do with it all? Definitely give this one a try if you’re a fan of urban fantasy.drey’s rating: Excellent!
