Rescue My Heart - Jill Shalvis I love Jill Shalvis’ contemporary romance novels — they go down smoother than a chocolate martini (chocolate! AND martini! yum!) at a Girl’s Night Out. And Rescue My Heart is no different.Hunky, broody, Search & Rescue hero who loves animals? Check. Gorgeous, tough, stubborn heroine who watches out for everyone but herself? Check. Overbearing, over-caring friends and family who stick their noses where they don’t belong? Check. Witty dialog and sassy comebacks? Check. Now that we’ve got the checklist sorted out, let’s get to the fun stuff, because there’s quite a bit to be found. I laughed out loud in so many places that the Mr. looked at me funny.Looking directly into Adam’s eyes caused a condition known as lust, which in turn caused its own condition. Stupidity.Holly and Adam get along really well — if by really well, I mean they argue like an old married couple, and make up like newlyweds. And along the way they rediscover just what it was that made them so special to the other, all those years ago. Not that it’s an easy journey. Adam’s broody for a reason, after all. And Holly’s getting over her biggest mistake EVER.You can expect (since this is a romance novel, not one of GRRM’s tomes where half your favorite characters don’t make it to the end of the chapter, much less the entire book…) Holly and Adam to eventually work their way to their HEA, previous history and current travails be danged. And you can expect (because this is from Jill Shalvis after all) to be entertained while they figure it out. So, pick up Rescue My Heart, grab a cuppa, a cozy corner, and a couple of hours, and go be entertained!drey’s rating: Pick it up! And if you want background on how Jill came up with a broody Adam, check out her Featured Author guest post from November!
